FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What South African firms ask before they connect their first system. Each integration page answers the questions specific to that connection.

Yes to both. Company, director and share data comes in from CIPC so your client register matches the registry, and the SARS connection covers taxpayer detail, outstanding returns and the VAT201 and EMP201 submissions. IRP6 is coming very soon. COIDA and UIF work is handled inside Fintura rather than through a connection: the deadlines are tracked and the forms are generated for your firm to file.

Fintura integrates with four accounting ledgers: Xero, Sage, QuickBooks and Zoho Books. Each is switched on from Billing with a sign-in to that ledger, turns approved time into an invoice without rekeying, and reports payment status back. You can connect several accounts of one ledger, but only one ledger at a time.

SimplePay and PaySpace. Each connection has one job: when a payroll run is closed, that period's PAYE, UIF, SDL and ETI figures arrive in the tax module ready for the EMP201. Nothing is ever written back, so employee records, payslips and leave stay under your payroll team's control.

Yes. Gmail and Outlook connect so your scheduled client emails go out through your own mailbox from your own address, and Fintura never reads your inbox. SharePoint, which also covers OneDrive folders, gives you a read-only view of each client's cloud folders inside their Files tab.

Yes. A workspace can connect more than one account on each of the four ledgers, which is how firms keep a VAT-registered book separate from a non-VAT one. The one limit is that you cannot run two different ledgers at the same time: connecting a second deactivates the first, and Fintura asks you to confirm before it does.

Yes. Both VAT and non-VAT clients sit in the same workspace, and because you can connect more than one account on the same ledger, a firm that keeps its VAT-registered clients in a separate set of books can connect each one.

Approved time entries become an invoice in Fintura, and pushing it creates the invoice in your ledger with your own account codes. Payment status comes back the other way when you next open Invoice History or click Sync, so a settled invoice closes itself off in Fintura.
