Fintura Sage integration
Turn approved time into invoices in Sage Business Cloud Accounting, known in South Africa as Sage One, and see whether each one is paid, overdue or unpaid.
Fintura is a Sage Tech Partner. The integration covers Sage Business Cloud Accounting, sold in South Africa as Sage One.
What is the Fintura Sage integration?
The Fintura Sage integration is a two-way connection between Fintura and Sage Business Cloud Accounting, the cloud ledger sold in South Africa as Sage One. Time your team has approved is invoiced straight into Sage, and Sage reports back whether each invoice is paid, overdue or unpaid.
Customers are matched against your client list at connect, and where a Sage account holds several companies a picker appears so each connection covers the company you choose.
What syncs, and in which direction
Every row is what the Sage connection does today.
| Data | Direction | When | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Company list | Sage to Fintura | At connect, where the account holds more than one | Fintura lists the companies on your Sage account so you can pick the one this connection covers. |
| Customers | Sage to Fintura | On connect, then on demand | Your Sage customer list comes across and is matched against the clients you already have. |
| New customer | Fintura to Sage | Where a client has no Sage customer | Fintura creates the customer record in Sage rather than making you capture it twice. |
| Invoices | Fintura to Sage | On push to Sage | Raised in Sage as an approved invoice awaiting payment, not a draft, on your own accounts and tax rates. |
| Invoice status: paid, overdue, unpaid | Sage to Fintura | When you open Invoice History, or click Sync | Sage reports paid, overdue or unpaid, and the Fintura row moves to match it. |
| Quotes | Two-way | Push on action, pull on sync | Quotes go across to Sage and their state comes back, and an accepted quote converts into an invoice. |
| Recurring invoices | Two-way | On user action | Sage recurring invoices are created, edited and removed from inside Fintura. |
| Accounts, tax rates and items | Sage to Fintura | When you build an invoice | Fintura reads your Sage accounts and tax rates so the invoice matches how that company is set up. |
How you would use it
Connect from Billing
Billing, then Integrations, then Connect Sage. You authorise from your own Sage account, and where that account holds more than one company a picker appears so you choose the one this connection covers.
Check the customer matches
Fintura matches your Sage customers to your clients. Close matches are saved for you, looser ones are held back for you to confirm, and anything unmatched is left alone.
Invoice from approved time
Mark time entries ready, create the invoice, check the lines, accounts and tax rates, then push. It lands in Sage as an approved invoice awaiting payment, and the time entries are marked billed.
See what is paid, overdue or unpaid
Next time you open Invoice History, or when you click Sync, the state Sage holds for each invoice comes back and the Fintura row moves to match.
What it does not do
- Does not appear on every workspace. The ledger connections live on the Billing page, which is part of practice management rather than something every plan carries.
- Does not receive a part-paid status from Sage. Sage reports paid, overdue or unpaid, and partial payment comes back only from QuickBooks and Zoho.
- Does not push invoices as drafts. They arrive in Sage as approved invoices awaiting payment.
- Does not update on its own. Status refreshes when you open Invoice History or click Sync, so a payment recorded in Sage reaches Fintura on your next sync.
- Does not pull invoices older than the last 90 days when you first connect.
- Does not work with Sage Pastel Partner or any other desktop Sage product. The connection is to Sage Business Cloud Accounting, sold in South Africa as Sage One.
- Does not keep a deleted quote. Sage removes a quote outright rather than archiving it, so the deleted and sent quote tabs do not appear for Sage.
- Does not sync bills, purchases or bank transactions.
- Does not keep working while your own Sage subscription is lapsed. Every request fails until you renew, and Fintura shows one dialog pointing you at Sage rather than a wall of errors.
- Cannot run alongside a different ledger. Connecting Xero, QuickBooks or Zoho deactivates Sage, and Fintura asks you to confirm before it does.

Frequently asked questions.
What South African firms ask about Sage in Fintura.
Yes. Invoices, quotes and recurring invoices go from Fintura to Sage, and customers, accounts, tax rates and payment status come back the other way. It is not a full ledger sync though: bills, purchases and bank transactions stay in Sage and are not pulled into Fintura.
Yes. A workspace can hold several Sage connections, and where your Sage account contains more than one company a picker appears at connect so you choose which company each connection covers. Firms use that to keep separate books apart without running a second workspace.
No. A workspace runs one ledger, so connecting Xero, QuickBooks or Zoho deactivates the Sage connection. Fintura asks you to confirm before it does that, so it is never a surprise. Several Sage companies can still run alongside each other.
Paid, overdue and unpaid. That is what Sage reports, and the Fintura row moves to match when you next open Invoice History or click Sync. There is no part-paid state from Sage: partial payment comes back only from QuickBooks and Zoho.
Yes. Fintura is a Sage Tech Partner. The integration covers Sage Business Cloud Accounting, the cloud ledger sold in South Africa as Sage One, and desktop Sage products are outside it.
